Working Towards a National Hispanic/Latinx Health Leadership Summit In 2020

MPact Global Action for Gay Men’s Health and Rights has been a part of this community-driven and led effort to produce the first-of-its-kind, policy-focused summit on HIV, viral hepatitis, Sexual Transmitted Infections (STIs) and other health issues affecting the Hispanic/Latinx communities throughout the U.S. and Puerto Rico.

MPact’s Fijate Bien Program, which aims to address the structural barriers contributing to the increase in HIV incidence among Latinx gay and bisexual men and the limited access to HIV care and treatment service for Latinx gay and bisexual men living with HIV, invites all community partners to attend this important gathering.  Our participation and full support for the summit will ensure that the voices and life experiences of Latinx gay and bisexual men are represented in any policy related decisions impacting our health and wellbeing.

For the last two years, we have been facilitating events leading up to this Summit scheduled to happen March 2 -3, 2020 in Washington, DC.

The objectives of the National Hispanic/Latinx Health Leadership Summit are:

  • Build National Consensus on the Hispanic/Latinx National Health Policy Agenda.
  • Educate & Engage Opinion Leaders (policy makers, civic, religious, media, etc.) on the Agenda and build support for its implementation.
  • Identify Initial Priority Community Actions for 2020/2021
  • Consolidate the National Hispanic/Latinx Health Leadership Network to develop and monitor the implementation plan for 2020-2024.

The National Health Policy Summit will gather leaders in public health, immigrant communities, health policy, elected, appointed officials, health and human service sector professionals.
