Europride is an international lgbt event, which takes place every year in a different european city. For fifteen days in Rome there will be artistical and cultural events.Europride will have its high point with Pride Parade, concerts and parties with international clubs in the final weekend.

Saturday the 11th of June, on the Rome streets the big parade of the Europride will be ready to march. The march will be also anticipated and followed by a rich calendar of artistic and cultural events. It’s the time of a big and new tour for all the lesbians, the transgenders, the gays and the bisexuals. A trip devoted to the pride, that offers the opportunity to find out the beauties of Rome and fight together to claim equal rights for LGBTQ people.

You’ve probably already been in Italy, in Rome, on the occasion of 2000’s World Pride, or you’ve probably been here visiting the Eternal City like a simple tourist. But you may have never been here. For those who want to come back to one of the most delightful cities in the world and for those who are curious to discover the city that Romans used to call “Caput Mundi”, this is your perfect occasion!

June will be once again the month of LGBTQ pride and this time not only for Italians. Rome warmly invites all gays, lesbians, bisexuals and trans from all over the world to invade, in a colorful and joyful way, the Eternal City, to remember the spirit of Stonewall.

Rome is the city that hosts the Vatican, center of one of the most hostile religions to homosexuality, to the acknowledgment of the same rights for the gay families and couples, to the prevention and fight to HIV, by the diffusion of conscious and advised use of condoms. The Italian law, also because of the Vatican, doesn’t grant to the LGTBQ people any rights, increasing the prejudices, ignorance and discrimination, that led and is still leading to several violent episodes.

For all these reasons, is very important for Italy and Rome to have as many of you as possible on the 11th of June march, no matter what is your sexual orientation and your gender identity. The pride is in fact a moment for sharing, the march is a moment of joy not only for trans and homosexuals, but also for all your friends, your parents and anyone who wants a more fair and civil world.

Friends all over Europe come here! Rome is waiting for you, her arms wide open for a rainbow colorful hug. Rome wants to be the capital of LGBTQ’s hospitality and we, as organizers of the Europride 2011, hope that you will not only join us in fighting for the improvement of LGBTQ’s life, but also enjoy the beauties of this timeless city.

Go for a walk in the old town centre, between the Pantheon and the Trevi Fountain, Piazza di Spagna and Piazza del Popolo. Lay down on the Ostia gay beach, where there will be a lot of occasions for new amusing and interesting meetings. Mix yourself within the colorful crowd of our gay clubs and breathe the magic atmosphere of this beautiful city, that between Spring and Summer shows its finer and intriguing face.

You will fall in love with us.
