How Do You Celebrate #PrideAroundTheWorld?

Each year in June, cities around the world celebrate LGBTQ Pride Month which commemorates the anniversary of the 1969 Stonewall Riots in New York City. Ever since, our community has put on parades, festivals, and events to celebrate the resilience and strength of our LGBTQ siblings around the world. In the face of discrimination and injustice, these celebrations are a way to stand loud and proud in our many multiple identities — flying flags of many colors, donning glitter and fabulous costumes, and even just creating space to be able to hold hands with the people we love.

So often the imagery around Pride Month centers white cis gay men and especially those who live in the global north. But we want to know how the rest of the world celebrates Pride!

What does “Pride” mean to you? We want to share your stories! Tag us on Instagram @mpact.global with the hashtag #PrideAroundTheWorld and show us what LGBT pride looks like in your country for a chance to be featured on our page!
