MSMGF Calls for Applications for New Members of the Youth Reference Group (YRG)!

The Global Forum on MSM & HIV (MSMGF) is happy to announce this call for new members of the MSMGF Youth Reference Group (YRG)!

The YRG is currently seeking expressions of interest from activists who focus on issues concerning HIV among young men who have sex with men (YMSM). Applicants should have experience and interest in working on HIV policy and/or programs, and strong linkages with existing networks focused on youth and/or people living with HIV.

Candidates openly living with HIV are encouraged to apply. Applicants should be between the ages of 16 and 29, and must be able to communicate effectively in English, the working language of the MSMGF YRG. Applications must be received by Friday, 18 March, 20:00/8pm UTC. The selection results will be shared by email by Friday, 25 March, 2016.

“Established in early 2010, the Youth Reference Group (YRG) is composed of YMSM advocates working for the health and human rights of YMSM in their respective regions around the world. The YRG advises and coordinates the work of the MSMGF on YMSM issues, advocating for the empowerment of YMSM within the global HIV response through skills building, cross networking, and meaningful participation in the decision-making processes that affect YMSM.”

As a global network, MSMGF has successfully influenced HIV responses at the local level through shifts in global-level policies and has effectively utilized public health as an entry point for advancing the human rights of LGBT people.
