(ANSA) – Rome, November 28 – Homosexuals in Italy fear their future will be more difficult than that of heterosexuals, according to a survey released Wednesday.
Fully 55% of gays and lesbians surveyed say they are concerned about their future in Italy, and 52% said that being homosexual and aging is more difficult than it is for straight people.
These results come from a survey on homosexuality and seniors in Italy, conducted by sociologist Raffaele Lelleri on behalf of the the union CGIL and Equality Italy.
More than 2,000 lesbian, gay, bisexual, and transsexuals (LBGT) living in Italy took part in the survey, which also found that 38% said life will become worse as they age.
