The story of Change

Ishtar began in 1997 as a small group of men who have sex with men in Kenya who would convene to discuss issues around their sexual health and rights. Now over two decades later, they are a central resource hub who provide support to LGBTI people throughout the entire East African region.

Their story of change and of growth is proof that community-led interventions on sexual health work.
