A White House petition for "Leelah’s Law," a bill to end the dangerous and discredited practice of LGBTQ conversion therapy, crossed the 100,000-signature mark last week, the number required for a formal response from the Obama administration.
The bill honors the memory of Leelah Alcorn, a transgender teen who committed suicide after her parents "pulled her out of school and isolated her in an attempt to change her gender identity."
